Tires and tubes are different. Tires are more similar to your speakers as they affect your traction, road feel, confidence in bad weather . Tubes clearly have different noise levels, they are more dynamic then a cable in that they wear out and cables can't. As tubes get older or are driven harder they can introduce audible distortion . I would say cables are more like jewelry.

I think that you should consider yourself very lucky.

You have a great system, that you love to listen to. You do not need super fancy cables to make you feel better about it.

Just enjoy it... and, ah, oh, I mean, get some 501's...

While I completely agree with you, and have used that line as a sales pitch in the past, I believe crtyckl was making a comparison between a $1000 cable and a $28000 cable - not the freebie in a box vs WireWorld.

The law of diminishing returns definately applies, and just how much additional extra cash you may have lying around to really try and hear that little of a difference.

Now if you do the freebie in a box vs WW comparison and still can't hear a difference, either you are deaf or you are listening to Bose; wait that was a redundant statement.
