Default New Bryston Orders - How Long?

I was just told by my dealer that the BDA-2 order will be another 2 weeks (minimum). I guess it's a hot product, and understand Bryston builds everything to order, nothing sits on the shelf -- and they also have to burn-in for a few days. If I have to wait a month for a product that has very little DOA's it's worth it. So here's my questions:

1. How long do orders typically run for everyone here -- not just BDA-2's?
2. What's your experience on Bryston reliability? I've experienced it twice with another manufacturer (you know who you are!! ). A little guidance on this one: please don't get negative here -- "just the facts maam".

I'm in my second week for a BDP-2. I'm told they are out of sound cards, with no firm date for delivery. There is more to this, but you asked us to refrain from negatives.

Hi Folks,

My apology for the delay on the BDP-2's.

We were having trouble getting the Julia@ sound cards - we got 350 of them yesterday - so we just have to do our modifications to the cards and should have units leaving the factory on Friday.

Absolutely. Bryston will answer questions on both old and new products very quickly. The only time I've had a unit serviced was simply a check-up on a piece I bought second hand. Not only did they check it out in 1-day at their VT facility, they did not charge for the return shipping. I'm in the midst of recapping my pair of older 2B-LP amps and they've answered my questions with no hesitation. I've abused these 2B-LPs big time (ten years as monobloc's with 4-ohm speakers - something cautioned against in their owner's manual). Never a hiccup, never a problem. Often ran too hot to touch. They've earned their new caps after 25 years of yeoman-like service.

Hey James. How about the BDA-2's? Why the long wait?

Things worthwhile are worth waiting for. I ordered my SP3, BDP-2, and BDA-2 on March 4th and appreciate that Bryston takes the time to make sure things are right. They'll come when they're ready.

But that doesn't make us more patient or less excited.

Best fishes,

Rich
