Default Accuphase DP-550

Does anybody can say something about this player and compare it for any others?

I've got a DP-410 in December 2013 after my dealer had convinced me to stick with CD instead of having music only on a NAS.
A great CDP with an useful USB interface. However, it didn't play SACD/DSD.
So I've compared DP-410 and DP-550 in January 2015.
Beneath the SACD/DSD capability, DP-550 delivers more details and a broader stage. For e.g. a system with a DG-58, it also provides a HS-Link interface (which I couldn't test so far).
Due to lucky circumstances I own a C-3850 now, so I'm considering to upgrade to a DP-720 or get a DC-37.

I have the C-3850 and I went with the DC-37 versus the DP-720. The DAC are similar in both units. It all depends if you listen to SACDs or computer audio. I do not listen to SACDs and I already had a CD transport, thus I went with the DC-37. I'm happy with my choice. Since you have a great CD transport than go with the DC-37 unless you are fixated on SACDs. Of course you can also get around and listen to SACDs via an Oppo or PS3.

The dc37 "is" the dp720 without the transport?
So in theory dc37 is "better" than dp550?

Hum, so a dc37 say, with a Oppo 103 as transport, would surpasse the performance of the dp550? I know we are entering in a very subjective analysis (different tastes; perception; systems and all), but maybe someone can share some thoughts.

The DC-37 digital section exceeds the DP-550 according to a test report in a German magazine. This is why i consider to get a DC-37 and keep the DP-550.

I wouldn't use a PS in my stereo, even if it plays SACD...

I received my DP-550.
Few impressions: very good player. Meanwhile I able to compare it only with Oppo-105D as player and as streamer. (btw I have TASCAM CD-601 which was very good player at the time and compare with him)

I understand that compare this units is not fair enough due to different price range, but may be it is might be useful for somebody.

As cd player it is incomparable. Sound of the Oppo is very harsh in comparison.
As transport for cd connected to Dp-550 as DAC it is better, but difference in sound is obvious.

Comparison between streaming cd NAS-OPPO-DP-550 versus playing the same disc in DP-550 is probably less audible than previous but exist.

Unfortunatelly can not compare SACD streaming and playing since DSD through SPDIF not supported. And it is pity as I have many SACD on NAS

I know I can burn DVD-R DSD disc's but it is uncomfortable this days

Congratulations Lesnik. Enjoy!

I'm using an Auralic Aries as streaming bridge, e.g. for playing DSD files via the USB interface. For me it's great...
