Oppo BDP-93 Compatible Audio Files
I have an Oppo BDP-93 player that sits idle 99% of the time as we stream all our movies and I don't play CDs anymore. Just once in a while I'll turn it on to view photos on the big screen via USB thumbdrive.
I have a Yamaha CR-1020 that was recently cleaned, serviced and updated with LED lamps for the display. It's performance is crisp, clear and honey sweet with the right speakers. And it has that awesome vintage vibe. I considered selling both units but our new abode in Arizona has the perfect room for a second system and I believe the combination of the Oppo as the DAC and the Yamaha as the receiver might be a wonderful pairing. I have all the rest of the gear to implement a digital solution including storage, cables, the remote and a small monitor. What I am wondering about, and found no information on, is what sort of file codec (WAV, MP3, FLAC, etc..) the Oppo will decode via USB. Anyone know?

Oppo BDP-93 Compatible Audio Files
I came across this wiki, which seems to indicate it will support the usual suspects (FLAC, wav, mp3, aac) up to 32/192.

It sure does indicate that if I use the USB input.
Thanks, Tony!

It works fine!
I copied some music files over to an external HDD, used the Oppo RCA analog out to a pair of analog inputs on the Yamaha, then plugged in a small monitor to the Oppo via HDMI. After powering up the Oppo I selected the menu and tweaked a few settings. Then, the moment of proof....I slapped on a pair of headphones, selected the playlist and, Voila`, we have music. Now I am going to pack it all in boxes in preparation for the movers to come and haul everything to Arizona.

Cool, it’s fun to bring the old to life with a little newer technology. I’m using a Squeezebox Touch and Schiit Bifrost with my Yamaha.
