If this is of any help to you, I have a Shindo Monbrison and Montille combo that I use with Klipsch LaScala IIs. I also have a Leben CS300XS that is paired with Devore Super 8s. I have never swapped the Leben into my main room with the Klipsch, but I have brought the Devores into that room.
To my ears the Leben is smooth, detailed, but laid back. The Shindo gear is more involving and really pulls you in. The Leben is in our family room for casual listening and background music. It works perfectly for this with the Super 8's. When I really want to get into the music, I head to the Shindo room.
I love the Shindo, but I am curious about hearing Leben seperates.
On a side note. Comparing the Klipsch to the Devores with the Shindo, for my ears the Klipsch are miles ahead.

Hi dirtbag!

I have a Shindo Aureiges/Montille combo driving a pair of La Scalas.....a really wonderful system...

I'm interested to know: are you are using upgraded crossovers in your La Scalas?

I'm using ALK engineering xovers in mine.....huge upgrade over the stock AA type.

Hi Beavis,

I have LaScala IIs that I bought brand new 4 yrs ago. Bone stock.
I keep thinking about swapping speakers for either Devore Orangutan O/96
or Tannoy Kensington, but I fear that they would not be a step up from my Klipsch.

Really? I'm not sure I'm following this. The LaScalla is nice, but looking at it as a step up from the O96 or the kensingtons doesn't make sense. I, personally, think they're just in a different league. But then, what do I know - I own Leben... LOL

Franklin,
I'm not saying the LaScallas are a step up from the O/96 or Kensingtons.
Rather that I'm not positive the Devores or Tannoys will be a step up from the
Klipsch. If price is the guiding factor then they both should be better as they are 2 to 3 times the price of the Klipsch.
Almost impossible to audition any of these speakers.
Remember it's my ears that have to be sold.

I don't remember if it was the LaScalla or some other model that I heard but let's just say that Tannoy and DeVore are on a different planet by comparison.

Fair enough, and point taken. FWIW, the Tannoys are beautifully sounding speakers. You need to get a listen to them or the Orangutans when you have an opportunity!

I need to find a Tannoy dealer somewhere on the west coast that has one of the Prestige speakers for audition.
Now if I can only talk Matt into throwing a pair of O/96 in his car and heading up to beautiful Vancouver.
