Poachers Killed More than 100,000 Elephants in 3 Years
The male elephant Changila, shortly before poachers killed him near the Samburu National Reserve in Kenya. In 2011, the worst African elephant poaching year on record since 1998, poachers killed an estimated 40,000 elephants, or about 8 percent of the elephant population in Africa. In the absence of poaching, African elephant populations grow about 4.2 percent each year, the researchers found based on detailed records from Samburu.

Killing elephant poachers is entirely too merciful. A 5.56 round in both thighs, then leave them in the brush for the lions, tigers and hyenas.

Very sad and heartbreaking!!! We should all put a lot of thought into what items (like jewellery) we are purchasing and where they might have originated.... A Google search of "things made from elephants task" is quite shocking and gruesome.

The Elephants will not be saved. They will be eliminated from the face of this earth, except for a few kicking around in zoos or very very private reserves not located in 3rd world countries .....then once that Ivory supply is gone mankind will take to killing the mighty Walrus(the killing had started already) for the pure Ivory in it's Tusks .........sadly it won't stop .......
