Default Best monitor speakers to pair with F113's?

While I am still thrilled with my Aerial Acoustic Model 9's -- they are towers and with the F113's, I don't use the Model 9's lowest end anyway and MAY decide to, after 28 years, sell my home and acreage and move to a different home with less (as in NO) maintenance and would consider reducing the size of speakers since the next house will be smaller. The mains would be powered by McIntosh MC501's.

Using my MX150 pre-pro for crossing over, will it be possible to seamlessly match the F113's in stereo to a pair of monitor speakers and obtain the room-filling full sound to which I am accustomed?

If so, what are some recommendations for quality monitor speakers that mate well (not sure that was the correct phrase) with the F113's? (HT 80%, music 20%)

[am thinking out loud at this point]

Thanks,

MikeSp

I really love my Sonus Faber Guarneri Mementos. They're paired with a single F113 (though I'd like to add a second).

I have done a great deal of analysis on this very idea. My recommendation: Keep your Aerial Acoustic Model 9s. They have a built in stand, you know their sound, and you paid for them. Only the biggest of speakers would have to be compromised due to space.

I have kept my Klipschorns for this very reason. Even though I have, and you do too, speaker lust and you feel that you have the resources($$$) to practice, what I call, speaker "in fidelity", I think you should love the one your with.

Ok, all that said. in My order of preference.

Wilson Audio Duette
JBL LSR6332
Revel Gem
Focal SM9 (Powered)
Focal Diablo Utopia
B&W 805D
JBL LSR6328 (Powered)
Paradigm S1
Paradigm Studio 20
Mackie 824mk2 (powered)
Harbeth PESR
Sonus Faber Guarneri Mementos
JBL LSR6325P (Powered)

Mike, do audition the Vivid Audio B1's too. You might be pleasantly surprised!
Good luck with the move.

I loved Bill's evaluation and also especially his term "speaker infidelity."

When I bought my speakers I have auditioned the following speakers:

- SF Evo
- Wilson Sophia 3
- Dynaudio Confidence C1
- Vivid B1
- Magico Q1

The ones I liked more were the Wilson - but my wife didn't like them mainly due to esthetic reasons.

Then a closed second, that I bought, was the B1. Stereophile Class A recommended speakers.

Third the Magico. Could have stayed in second place but I feared that would be fatiguing with prolonged listening hours. Very expensive also. Top build quality.

Many thanks for everyone's thoughts on my question. I realize that speakers are about as personal as any component in audio, but to me, thoughts from people that have experienced blending a smaller speaker with a quality subwoofer is very important.

Unfortunately, I live in a black hole when it comes to geographic location vs. high end audio stores with a nice selection of such speakers combined with JL subs.
