Default Surround Speakers

Currently have PMC OB1is (Mains) and CB1i (Center).

Thoughts on using a pair of Klipsch KS-525s as surrounds for my HT.

Rob.......I believe to maintain the voicing integrity of the surround sound system you should remain with PMC speakers. You can add a pair of PMC GB1i's for surrounds, you won't need stands, your voicing will be maintained, and best of all a pair is only $3529.00 from Audio Classics.

Dan,
These will be luxurious surrounds. Your approach is purist imho.
To me surround speakers are for ambiance. I have heard many great HT systems where the surrounds were from different brands than the center and front speakers, without any problem.
But I am not an example. Even my center ( CB6i) is not of the same brand of my front ( Wilson's) !
And I have zero problem of coherence imho.
Both are very neutral and blend perfectly.

I looked at the GB1is already. I would like the surrounds to be mounted higher up so no floor standing speakers for me.

Jerome,

Ambience - that's what I was thinking as I was using my OB1is as surrounds, not to much there what a waste.

The wide dispersion surrounds from Klipsch should be good for such duties.

I am looking for a pair of used TB2is which could work to.

I have similar surrounds and for me the Klipsch are too harsh, especially if they are close. Mine are placed approx. 2-3m from my ears on the side wall. Personally I would not recommend my speakers, but possibly for larger installations I would.

If you want the best soundfield possible with your current setup, go with Dan's suggestion.

If you only want some noise coming from behind, any quality speaker will work for you. Plenty of options from B&W, etc . . .
