Default Audio salons are a bad influence

So what started out as a small second system for a bedroom space morphed into something on a larger scale. An MA252 w/ JBL L100 classic speakers is now a C70, MC462, MT5, and Wilson Sasha 1s. I had a chance to listen to Wilson’s Sabrina, Yvette, and Sasha DAWs at the local audio emporium and was quite taken with the Sasha DAWs far and away above its siblings. A reasonable cost effective substitute turned out to be Sasha 1s with which I am thoroughly delighted. Superb sound stage, excellent cohesion across the audio bandwidth with particularly strong mid bass authority. I think the C70 is something of a sleeper, not much internet interest it seems. Very smooth, detailed, quiet, excellent internal MC phono which makes cost more reasonable. I prefer tone control defeat which this preamp offers, allowing a less involved audio path. Using an Ortofon blue Cadenza rather than stock Sumiko in MT5. The 462 seemed an ideal choice for a Mac/Wilson pairing and it drives the Sasha effortlessly.

Dave.......Visiting audio stores on a regular basis is a prerequisite to large sums of cash exiting your bank account. This is the voice of experience talking.

Beautiful system. Well thought out. I agree with your thoughts on the C-70 and 462. I think Mac and Wilson are a great match and very cost effective. I like cost effectiveness a lot. If you have an "infinite" budget it's easy to build a system. In other forums I see Dags and dCS stacks typically used with Wilsons in ultra expensive systems. However, personally I'll take my 1.25's and D1100 (over the Dags and dCS) any day pocket the difference and save it to spend it on something else like a better speaker down the road. Watts don't lie and I got about 4,000 spread across 3 amps at 4 ohms which is more than any (3) Dags can supply other than a Relentless.

Most recent upgrade just last week: Diamond USB replaced AQ Coffee

djcxxx-

Great set-up any audiophile would be happy to own especially as a "second" system.
What are those crazy "super size" power cords?

Enjoy the Sounds!
