That is stunning, RaceCarDriver. I bet you do love them. I hope to hear the 800 D3 someday. I have briefly listened to the the 804 D3 and 802 D3. The 800 D3 line is fantastic. Enjoy that system.

Cheers,

Scott

Awesome setup.

I’d love to see more pictures of your room-

I’m in the final stages of planning my basement build and I’m looking for inspiration.

Has anyone heard the 800D3 speakers paired with D’Agostino amps, in particular the Momentum or Progression series?

It seems like nobody has heard D’Agostino amps with the 800D3 speakers.

How about with the new 800 series in general? The Wilson speakers seem a popular match with D’Agostino but maybe not so much with B&W?

I wonder whether this is due to price, sonic match or something else. Either way it would be good to hear people’s opinions.

Thanks!

I’ve heard the Dan D’Agastino Classic and Progression with the 800D3. Great control. Detail. But I keep thinking an Audio Research Ref6 would complete it

I do not have 800D3 but I do have 803D3 as my 2nd speakers.

I also have REF6 and DD Progression amp on my systems. My 803D3 really run on stereoids if I may say. Any kind of music you throw at REF 6 and Progression combo, it finish it very well driving the 803.

It slams deep, soundstage is huge and I discover many new sounds on some recordings that i never heard before , and articulation is amazing. It makes me glued to my listening chair.

I bought the progression to drive my Magico M3, but since my audio room renovation going to take longer than expected, my M3 still on it's crate. Meanwhile I bought 803 to enjoy for the time being.

If I have not bought M3, I could live with 803 for a long time, but again, I also won't buy progression if not because of M3.

DD amps and REF 6 are not cheap combo to have, I believe not many 800 series owner will look at this combo mainly due to cost.

Very nice King!

I tend to think your thoughts about cost being an issue why people may not use this combo is right. I have demoed the Progression Stereo with my 800D3 speakers and it was very good, although not head and shoulders above my current McIntosh set up.

I suspect the Momentum amps might be a different story however you are then jumping up to an entirely new price level if you go with monos which is my current set up.

Enjoy your beautiful set up!

Wow! I was going to say I can’t see many 800D3 owners out there with D’Agostinos but I’m sure it’s a lovely combination.

Simply awesome
