George, terrific system that many of us can only aspire to. Based on what's going on in the country, I'd say your timing was impeccable. Happy listening!

What color is your Alexx? Again super congrats! A purchase and acquisition well done. May you enjoy them for many years!

p.s. I know you will, but be sure to fill out your warranty card or have the dealer register them. For some reason I did not on my Maxx3 and Alexx. Don't know why. Just plain forgot. I did not forget with my XVX. It is registered at Wilson. I have no doubt Wilson would honor the speaker but for this kind of investment, cross the t's and dot the i's.
These are Sea Foam Green just like my Sasha 2's were! Love that color!

George I really love that color. Glad I didn't know about it but I would have had to go with the non custom/standard colors anyway.

I have had time to think about the differences I hear between my XVX and my Alexx. The Wilson sound signature did not change in the least bit between the two. I did not purchase my XVX as I said repeatedly because of dissatisfaction in any way with my Alexx. I bought it because I'm getting older. My hearing will go and I don't purchase gear to admire it.

I think my main question on the XVX was the mid. Would it in some significant way sound different/better than the older mid. Honestly, I would say so if otherwise, the answer is no. Anyone thinking about a Wilson should know that the difference in the XVX is incremental only. This is greatly to Wilson's credit, IMO. I enjoyed the Alexx immensely. Ditto for the XVX.

To my ears you have got to spend a lot more money to beat the Alexx and even then, the improvement is only incremental. I said all along the Alexx was an extremely good value at 109,000.00. Nothing I hear in my XVX has changed my mind.

It’s a much better value when purchased slightly used with extra 40k in pocket too! Still sounds just as amazing. Congrats George, they look amazing in your set up.

That's too low a price for an Alexx. One can fire sale anything if you need the money quick but a good price for an Alexx on the used market is about 55-60k based on what I got for mine and I know what I got for mine.

Loudspeakers are somewhat like cars in the sense that the second you drive it off the lot it loses a lot of value. For example Audio Classics stays in business because they guarantee that the used piece will perform up to specs and will not be damaged.

As far as I'm concerned any dealer that allows a piece to go into a home environment causes it to become used. Some folks buy wholesale. Some retail. I have never bought a used piece of gear in my life with the exception of my Thor. I spotted it setting literally in the wall of my dealer. It never moved and was never hooked up. I kept my eye carefully on it. My dealer sold it to me at a great price and it came to me as a new piece installed by him exactly as a new piece. Has worked perfectly. Nothing wrong with buying used gear but man, you can really get burned.

I see this not infrequently on this site folks complaining about this or that piece not working acting like they bought it new when they most certainly did not. Bottom line, if you don't have the money to buy new (not necessarily full retail), don't complain when it doesn't work out. If you have a good relationship with your dealer he will work with you to make it a win win situation. It's how Ivan makes money and should make money. Dealers are supremely important.

Miscommunication. I was referring to having an extra $40k in pocket after sale (versus paying $109k new) not finding a pair for $40k (!!!) as these exact speakers were listed at $70k elsewhere. Great deal in my mind, I briefly considered purchase but color doesn’t work for me.

That's much more reasonable. Thank you for the clarification. Personally, I would rather purchase new from a dealer but that's just me. There are excellent deals on the secondary market.
