Default Guarneri, you can't have too many.

This could also be titled "When it rains, it pours". Feast or famine?

I joined the SF Fraternity a month ago with a new pair of Mementos after lusting after a pair of Homages for years. Never could find the right pair so I went with new GMs. Now, of course, the perfect pair of Homages finds it's way to me a week ago.

I do love them both. Don't know which pair I would choose if I could only have one, they each have their strengths plus the new GM's are still breaking in. The best I can come up with now is, if you are a tube lover, the GH is like a 300b and the GM is like a 2a3.

These are special speakers. My progression in speakers since the 80's has gone from B&W 801 to Theil 3.5 to Vandersteen 3a. Then a revelation with a pair of Apogee Duetta Sigs and Magnepan 3.6 in the late 90's when I had the room for 2 systems. Due to a difficult room in a new house I let go of the Apogees for a single driver/SET system that I really enjoyed. The planars have spoiled me with their "boxless" presentation and I've been disappointed in many types since, but the G's are doing it for me. I still have the Maggies so things are a little crowded at the moment but it's a nice crowd.

Any tips from you G veterans out there would be appreciated as I'm experimenting with mine.

M,J and S, thanks for the welcome.
Had the H's on this evening/during dinner and now the M's.
I think this will be a hard forum to keep going as the SF people are busy listening to music. I'm lucky to have one of these in my home office.

Cisco, I'll try to do some pix. Never have before. Is there a link to show how?

OneMalt, Don't know about cousins, how about brothers from another mother.

Congratulations from a fellow GH owner. I've read many posts (esp on AudioGon) about the differences between GHs and GMs, and it sounds like you bypassed the entire argument.

Can you please elaborate on the comment: "the GH is like a 300b and the GM is like a 2a3."

Thanks,

Alberto
