I had a great time at the event last night. Thanks to Steve for hosting and to the powers that be for organizing a great listing session. I am looking forward to the next one.

Really enjoyed myself last night, too bad Steve #4 had to drive so far otherwise he would've enjoyed dinner as we started getting rowdy. Henri had to bounce too, unfortunately.

But everyone else was there, another great time!

And Roy (olskool), what more can be said? Guy's a definite member. He cleans gutters too.

But on a more serious note, what a room, what a speaker unit. It's not everyday you are in the presence of audio greatness. I enjoyed it and found that the Magico Q7 in that large room imparted a good sense of what I have in my room with my 802D3 in a smaller and more compromised living situation/room. There was a sense of ease to the Q7, no strain, effortlessness, and still had immense palpability of the vocalist while having the reserve to knock you out with some larger classical pieces.

Some may say clinical or sterile, but I believe a large part would be ameliorated with upstream gear choices, cables, tubes, etc. That guy being 94db efficient may rock with even a mid-high power SET.

That said - WHO'S READY FOR ROUND 3?? Courtesy of founding member George, he will take is to the promise land that is Utah...in the form of Dallas.... for a demo of Wilson Alexx (and perhaps a demo of the smaller Wilson Sabrina). This one I GOTTA hear!!

I did indeed have to go. My GF wasn't feeling well.

But previous to that, yes, it was a great evening!

The Magicos are the best built speaker I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. From a sonic perspective, not exactly my cup of tea.....however.......the lack of strain, ease of presentation, and solid foundation under the sound, was amazing. The speakers seemed to be loafing the entire time.

I would have loved to hear them on those tubes.

I'm definitely ready for round 3!!

I agree, I believe (my biased ears), my system is much warmer than the Q7 there, but I feel like a large part of that is upstreams. The Q7 is a window, it is clear.

But at the same time, it's like a volcano ready to erupt.

That said, many warmer speakers out there, inherently so. No right or wrong.
