Sonus Faber Amati Anniversario Palladio
Someone is selling this rare Amati Anniversario that came out in 2008.
AudiogoN ForSale: Sonus Faber Amati Palladio When I bought my Guarneri Memento last year, I was really tempted to get a pair of Palladio GM. In the end, I chose the Red Violin colour over Palladio's natural blond maple colour. For me, Red Violin is Sonus Faber |

Just a reminder to anyone ever thinking of buying a Sonus Faber Speaker that has not been imported by Sumiko. They will not sell service your speaker, and they will not sell you anything you might need to repair your speaker. So, buyer really better be aware.

If, or example, you emigrate to the US and bring with you audio equipment, why shouldn't they service it, for a fee, of course. What if you bought it second hand from overseas? What has you done wrong? The world is getting smaller! |

Howie,
If you bought it outside the US and moved here I believe they will help one out, but what they are trying to do is stop the grey market products from gaining a foothold here. They are doing what they feel they must do to protect their dealer system here, and I can't fault them for doing so. While it may stop some from wanting to do business with them, it won't stop me. |

What Sumiko are trying to do is protect their nice fat margins. Just look at the absolute ripoff prices they charge on SME turntables.
If someone has bought a s/h speaker or amp from another country so what. They carry no warranty and should be fixed at the current replacment parts rate and labor charge. |

Get the serial number and call Sumiko. They will tell you if the speakers in question have been sold by an authorized dealer in the US.
There's a guy in Santa Clara County that brings in grey market SF speakers that he sells on Audiogon. He will tell the truth about where he bought them, but he then tries to tell you he has a place that will cover any problems you might have, that's BS. Sumiko tries to take care of the people that buy the products from authorized dealers. John Hunter has put up the money to run his business the way he thinks best serves his customer, and dealer base. If someone doesn't like it, don't buy their products, or, better yet, start a business that does it better than Sumiko. |
