i listened to both (Venere S OII) of them as wel just to have a reference.
I think you cannot compare due to the price difference.
O II is astonishing
Venere S is a more "commercial" speaker i think.
Finally ordered the 804D instead of Venere S.

Sorry I didnt reply sooner. I also compaired the OIIs to the OIIIs. The IIIs have a bit more low end and can play a bit louder. I would like to buy the IIIs but funding may limit me to the IIs . Paired with my sub the IIs should work well for me.

Thanks Shindo. The OIis fit my budget better as well. In my room and with the music I prefer I dont think I would miss the extra bass of the IIIs.

I was thinking about getting the OI's for the small room I'm listening in for the near term. I have auditioned the II and III's. How do the OI's stack up in terms of everything but low end against the II and III? Also any suggestion of a small sub that would mate well with them?

Correct, all Sonus Faber speakers should sound better than their B&W counterparts. Only people who prefer B&Ws and buy them on a regular basis would dispute that. That's because SFs are designed by well-dressed Italian stallions in silk suits, with love and passion coursing through their veins, whereas B&Ws are designed by British scientists in white lab coats using measurements and charts and graphs and other objective tools.

I lied to you all . I ended up getting the Venere S I got a really good deal on a walnut cabinet pair. They should be delivered next week . Time will tell but I'm sure I will enjoy them . As for B&W 804. I was yearning for a pair until I found SF . The SF s are so much smoother. The 804s were harsh to my ears and my wife's . I still have a pair of 602s that I've had for 21 years . They sound great still and are in mint condition I hate to part with them.

I have the O3 and their BW counterpart. Both sound good.

Anyone looking at the Olympica series should feel lucky to be able to do so.
