Hi Matt,

Yes, you will need a separate Dac or go with the Aurender A10. The A10 has 4TB storage and an increase list price of $5,500.00.

Well that settles it - a 2TB base model will suit my library nicely with room to grow. Thanks everyone for the prompt and detailed responses. And the encouragement!

I am really excited to take this plunge. I have been spinning my CD's and some SACD's on the K-03 for a number of years now. When I bought the K-03, one advantage to me was the ability to use the DAC at a later date with a server. Opening up the Tidal universe is, well, going to be amazing as well. I watched the Olive servers come and go, and was waiting for something like this which hopefully will serve me for a number of years.

This is a great, passionate forum. I try not to abuse it with silly questions, but I know I will have some as I try to get set up. Thanks for being patient with me.

Matt.......The only silly questions are the ones that don't get asked. We will walk you through it if you hit a snag. I doubt that you will. Aurender's setup procedure is straight forward. To control the N100H you will need an iPad for WiFi control of the Aurender Conductor app, plus an Ethernet connection to your router. That's all there is to it. You are going to love this music server.

Will definitely check it out and it's been a while since I've heard your system.

Thanks Dan San, you have been so helpful over the years, answering questions and sharing your experiences.

I am hoping to run the app on Android if possible. I have a Samsung phone and Samsung tablet. Will see how it goes.

I will start a 'newbie install' thread for any setup questions, so as to consolidate and not pollute the forum.

Cheers

Matt

Matt.......The Aurender App for Android is based on the Aurender App for iPad, and enables convenient browsing and playing of music using compatible Android phones and tablet PCs. It is a Beta version. I have it installed on my Samsung Galaxy 7 and it works flawlessly, but it does not support Tidal at this time on the phone app. Perhaps the tablet version does. I do not own an Android tablet so I can't be certain. I took this photo tonight. The Android Beta version will get you up and running but the iPad version gives full functionality and is the way to go.

Thanks Dan - yeah, I will want Tidal for sure, so will look into the ipad route then, for that alone.

Cheers

I am doing this on a tight budget, perhaps even finding a used N100 from someone on the upgrade path....

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Cheers

Matt
Just a gentle tickle here - anyone feeling N10-upgrade-itis? There's a beauty in the member classifieds

As long as you’re not into collecting live music, you should be fine for a long time. I have 2TB of Grateful Dead and Phish concerts in addition to my regular library
