KEF Manufacture Forum?

Dam Michael, those references are awesome!!! I was absolutely in love with the 104aB that I had for years. I have been reading reviews recently. It appears as if the speaker world is going crazy with these new KEF designs. Who would have thought, the company that invented using polymers in speaker drivers still being innovative over 50 years later....

My LS50s will arrive tomorrow or Wednesday... Hoping for tomorrow they left Reno a few hours ago ....

The reviews I have been reading, from top reviewers, are just glowing over this speaker. Saying they compete with/beat speakers that are 3,4,5 times their price.

To me I currently have very limited space... matching them with my McIntosh MXA70 should really give me that incredible experience that I used to enjoy with the 104aB and the Audionic dual mono amps.... but in a very small package ....

The poll was just added... so hopefully many of the members I have seen posting on KEF in other threads will journey over here and make their opinions known.

I said to go back and look at the forums that haven't had much participation because that would be a good reason in replacing one of them to get a new forum.

Just adding another forum that might not get much attention just doesn't make much sense, and it clutters up the form in general. It might also cost Ivan more money, and i'm not a big fan of spending other people's money.

When I reviewed KEF’s R500, I said that it “sets a new standard for what can be expected at this price.” Insofar as small floorstanders go, that’s still true. Now, I can say pretty much the same about what the LS50 does in the world of minimonitors -- and a little more. The fact that KEF has positioned this model as a one-off design in the same category of “Flagship Hi-Fi Speakers” as its very expensive Blade and ultra-expensive Muon models serves only to heighten its appeal -- combined with its fine build quality and distinctive styling, the LS50 comes off as more a luxury item than a mass-market two-way, even if it is made in the Far East. You can’t say that about many speakers, even the R500. The LS50’s sound, irrespective of price, was outstanding in my room: a wide-open soundfield; razor-sharp imaging; voluminous bass; soaring, clean highs; and a midband as natural as it was clear. Holy moly, this speaker sounded good -- and at a ridiculously low price.

The LS50 is nothing short of a masterpiece of a minimonitor, priced so that anyone serious about audio can buy a pair -- and probably should, if only to know how great a small speaker can be. Time hasn’t been as much on my side as it’s been on KEF’s -- the LS50 is one of their best speakers yet, and one of their best values; it’s proof that, as it ages, this company seems to get better and better.

When a person asks "why not" in regards to a new forum, you might just have someone answer that "why not" in a way you don't like, don't take it personal.

In the poll it looks like six people would like to see a KEF forum, I don't know if that justifies support or not, but I wouldn't call it overwhelming support. Rally the troops, do some more cheerleading and maybe it will change.

I own some British speakers, Monitor Audio. They get great reviews, make covers of audio magazines, etc.. I have also seen them listed in a number of people's signature lines here on AA, but I know that there really isn't a great following so I would never suggest a forum of their own. That's just me.

First off, in my opinion this is a simply discussion so I don't take anything personal (and I realize that the comment was not directed at me, but would prefer to keep things on a positive note anyway).

The poll was put up last evening. Give people a chance to see it before judging the outcome being small or large.

I am sure Monitor is a fine brand; not something I am familiar with but that does not mean much. However, we are talking about two different things here. KEF is a legendary brand, one of the most respected in the industry for over 50 years. Maybe comparing apples and oranges in the analogy.

That could certainly be said of many manufacturers.

I'd go out on a limb to say there are more KEF owners, than say, Canton, or, well gosh - was gonna say Legacy, but then don't appear to have a forum anymore.

There isn't a Magnepan forum here, either - but I'm sure there are plenty of Maggie owners/fans.

Dedicated manufacturer forums bring extra visitors.

I have often noticed that new members begin their first post by "I searched on the web for information about this brand and I found that AA has a forum".
I like these forums, and don't mind scrolling down to pick the right one on AA's home page.

KEF surely deserves its own, as does Monitor Audio.
Both are very popular here in Europe - especially in Great Britain - so it could make AA make even bigger.
