After some thought I've decided to narrow my focus so I'm not all over the place.

First, if I abandon the original idea of this thread and go for speakers, I want them to be comparable to my Mirages in frequency range and form factor particularly. Since my system is dual-purpose, bass and detail are my priorities. My M-3si speakers go down to 30Hz, so their replacements should do at least that. And I don't think anything shorter than 48" works visually.

Second, it isn't necessary to buy speakers NOW. I could wait a few months, after a few more SS checks have come in, and put some of that toward the higher-up speakers on my short list. The only one I've heard in person is the Focus SE, and that was 7–8 years ago (despite what I said earlier, they've crept back onto the list).

Third, While I could buy those ML F200s immediately, I need to do my usual deep-dive research still. For example, I need to ascertain as best I can whether the Focus SE is really too much for my room, as they can hit 18Hz. This is an apartment building with suspended floors, and if the Mirages can produce palpable vibrations occasionally depending upon the recording/video, the Focus SE could shake the place. Similar research would apply to the Bryston Model T or T10 Line Array.
