I'm looking at an Avid Diva II with a SME 309 arm used but like new in my area. Anyone use this table arm combo? I'm considering selling 3 of my 5 modified vintage rigs and replacing them with this unit.

I'm calling on Vovlere owners:
Does your table/platter makes a sound when you start it and stop it? It seems like the pulley or the drive belt is making a sound on mine.

I wonder if the belt is worn out, if it's something else or it's just normal.

My Acutus makes a different sound every first time I start it up, depending on when it was last used... I just ignore it as it lasts such a short time and doesn't continue.

My Acutus always makes a groaning sound at startup. I was told by my dealer that this is normal because of the mass of the platter.

That's good to know cause I was worried. I guess it's just the time for the motor to work against the inertia of the platter.

If I recall correctly, AVID uses high torque motors, so it's kind of like your Vette taking off.

Get a Stillpoints LPI. I have one and it is at least as good as the Avid screw down clamp and is more convenient.

That's good to know. I got a new clamp from Conrad anyway since I upgraded my spindle the old one didn't fit.
