Very true.....Getting the VTA dialed in takes some time. I heard the difference, on initial setup I did not pay good attention to it. A few days later spent time checking everything, made an adjustment of about 1/2 a mm and whammo!! The sound was beyond my expectations.

This cartridge will test your setup talent

I have an MP-500 on my downstairs casual-listening TT - it's really superb for an inexpensive (relatively), no-fuss cartridge.
