Default VPI and Masterlu

Yesterday I was blessed!!
Service just doesn't get any better.
A couple of months ago, I bought a new VPI Classic 3 turntable.
I bought it from Ivan aka Masterlu.
I tried to setup the turntable with a new Ortofon black cartridge that I have.
It was my 1st experience with vinyl since the 80's.
It sounded very unsatisfying.
When I told Ivan of my thoughts, he asked me if I need some assistance.
I gladly accepted and we made arrangements.
Yesterday at 4PM I hear this wonderful sound pull up in to my driveway.
It is the kind of sound that this audiophile loves.
The sound of a gorgeous red Ferrari.
Last time I looked at this Ferrari, it was at Ivan's house.
After prying my eyes and ears away from the Ferrari, we walked in to my house to tackle the turntable.
Of course Ivan is always prepared with a plethora of tools.
He worked with the Classic 3 for a little over 1 1/2 hours while explaining the individual settings and steps.
It was truly a learning process for me.
He was very patient with a couple of parts that frustrated me.
I am generally a very patient person.
I even remember thinking "How can the guy that just pulled up in a Ferrari, dealing with South Florida rush hour traffic, be so patient".
Well guys, it paid off in spades.
When Ivan finished my turntable, we sat down and listed to the end result.
Analog is sooooo sweet!!!
I will get more time for critical listening this weekend.
2 main things I learned today.
Ivan is the right person to buy all my equipment from.
He gives true meaning to customer service before and after the sale.
Thank you Ivan, I truly thank you for the time you took out of your busy schedule to help me.
The 2nd thing I learned was that VPI was an excellent choice for a new turntable.
Actually, FYI, I learned a lot more yesterday.
Just 2 audiophiles, hanging out and talking about what we love.

Even the bad experience is a good experience with Ivan. I've had issues with some hardware and he always had my back.

I almost regret not living in the US to be able to buy all my gear from him.

Now there's something you don't often see in the driveway - a customer service guy driving a red Ferrari.

Sounds like you two had a great time. Enjoy your all vinyl weekend.

Yes I agree....I am very lucky to live 15 minutes from him.
Of course, it probably only took him 5 minutes.

Ivan has never even met me and has been the number one supporter and help into the world of Hi-Fi. As much as possible he will always have my business and support.

After we talked on the phone Sean I knew a proper setup of the VPI would set things right, congrats!

Also have to say that AA is by far the best resource for Hi-Fi enthusiasts. I love this forum.

You can't pay for customer service like that. That projects the type of person Ivan is - very special.
