Default Uh, uh, uh, what a "little" preamp can do....

Dear friends,

Three years ago, I purchased my first Mc component, a mcd 550 player.

This september, a preowned "like new" C2300 appeared at my reliable dealer. This was my desired preamp because the great opinions I`ve read in this forum about it.

Once the deal was closed, a day before the payment should be made, my wife asked me: "Do you think this equipment fits in our rack ?" "Of course", I answered.

Once she left the room I ran to measure the distance between shelves, and..... Of course, by 0,393701 inches my dreamed C2300 was far from home.

You can imagine my face . What to do ? I began to look for a new rack, but, you know, the one's I found were too big, or too ugly, or too expensive....

By chance, the same dealer, had a C500 T. Preowned, and in mint condition. It´s price exceeded my initial budget, of course, but once my understanding wife was persuaded, and after a hard negotiation with my loved dealer, the toy it's at home.

I still can´t believe the quality leap my sistem has experienced in terms of space, detail, warmth.... I´m listening the voices, saxes, cymbals, like never before (and with the stock tubes...)

Next step ? A MC275 ? I hope so.

P.D.If anyone could show me how to add a couple of images, I´ll be plesed to share them with all of you.

I am very surprised that there was any difference in the width between the C2300 and the C 500T.

Congratulations on getting the 500T. it is a fine pre-amp.

Me too, but the difference it`s not small. However, each 500 T component has the same width than the mcd 550
