I had to call him many times and each time he had forgotten etc. I really think he has health issues - and I like the guy but honestly if I ordered them? I don't know if he would have remembered to place the order.
So let's go to plan B. A place I went to demo them out of state - about a 3-4 hour drive. I call up and I say let's work out a price - I came to see you in Dec 2014. Great shop. He has some deal going on and it might have worked out well for me......except.... I don't live in his state - even given the extenuating circumstances - magnepan needed to give him permission. He calls me right back. He can't get permission. He says call magnepan NEXT Monday when Wendell will be in the office. He can't sell them. Even though I know of someone else that has purchased from him across state lines on this site.

Exasperated and pissed to no end, I go online look for a dealer about 120 miles away. How do I know them? From a picture on an online page. I can imagine the guys delight when I called at 4pm on a Monday asking him if he could sell me a pair so we work out a 'so-so' deal. One I can live with but not anything to write home about.

This was a two week process because I was trying to give my local guy a chance to make it happen. When I realized it wasn't going to happen. I was like... ah well I'll just call up the place I had the demo with and at least reward him with the sale. Then....WHAT?? You won't sell them to me?? Oh brother.
Congrats on getting the 20.7s.

Interesting to hear your description of the dealers. I dealt with Audio Consultants in Chicago and they were able to ship the 3.7s and later the 20.7s to my home in Missouri without issues or restrictions.

Hi Carlos. Yes. No luck with your store. But in any case I should be getting them as long as things don't go sideways.

I had a twist today but will not discuss until final delivery.

Where is masterlu when you need him??

Well. All I know is today is one more day closer. I actually have ML Odysseys today. So I see you have logans. Great speakers. I love the panel sound and these 20s are killer on texture, soundstage, and just creating a realistic soundscape. I'm kind of busting out at the seams. Haha.

Congrats on your new 20.7's.

Dealers can be kind of strange when it comes to the larger panels and Magnepan seldom demos them at audio shows, if ever. For the longest time Los Angeles had no stocking/demoing dealers. For a county with 10 million people, you would think there would be at least one. The closest stocking/demoing dealer was San Francisco or San Diego.

Wow. That is crazy. I had to travel about 4 hours to listen - then was told I couldn't buy from that dealer because I lived in another state!! Haha it finally got sorted out. Well- I think the 20.7 is one of the nicest speakers I have ever heard. It is just my thing - soundstage, depth, solid bass, great high end. But in particular - it's the soundstage. I am sure demoing them in a hotel room sucks and hauling them cross country does too. But it is simply a word of mouth speaker. I think they would sell quite a few more with a better marketing / distribution strategy.

I hope these are everything you are looking for.

I guess after this, you're done on the speaker front? Hahaha

Haha!! Joey hope you are doing well. The 20.7s I think could be it for me!! . They should be here in about 10 days.

In your excursions I do not recall you auditioning them? I know you hit up the 3 series if I recall. Do you still have the 802D3s or am I behind the times?

Any chance to hear the new Logan lineup? I have yet to hear them.
