Hmmm....lemme see.

Ah, okay, the first version of the Schiit Fulla DAC/headphone amp thingy (Schiit's idea of an AQ Dragonfly).

That little puppy really was Fulla Schiit.

Not one!

Sometimes I do wonder if I stopped earlier, where would I be today, but have loved the journey thus far!

Anyone who bought and paid for an LH Labs Geek USB DAC in the last 5-6 years probably thinks that was a dumb purchase because Larry Ho never filled orders on those Kickstarter or IndieGogo campaigns, and may well be indicted for fraud by the CA Attorney General.

I also had a bad experience with Indiegogo.
A kickstarter, Woobiibox Qi, cost me 129€ (portable wireless charger/battery/hub).
Never got it, neither did the other subscribers.
Indiegogo never answered our numerous mails.

Back in the mid-90s I bought an ADS amp (forget model) to drive my new Aerial 10Ts, for which I'd really stretched. Paid around $1600 for a model above one that Stereo Review had reviewed favorably. I few days after my dealer installed the system, the amp literally flamed out. The dealer sent it off for repair. When I re-installed it, I noticed clearly audible transformer hum. The dealer was skeptical, so I demonstrated it for him. Told him I was done with ADS. Traded at full value for a Mark Levinson No. 331 at about triple the price (ouch!), but a great amp.... which I sold about 20 years later for about a third of what I'd paid. Take-aways: Be careful with bargain priced components and audio magazine reviews.

I once purchased a pair of Kef Q3 speakers based on reviews at the time, without ever actually hearing them first.

I still have them connected to a seldom-used tv upstairs. It’s not that they’re horrible, but they’re just not that good.

That taught me a relatively cheap lesson to never trust speaker reviews alone and rather listen to them first for myself.

In 2012, I drank the kool-aid and upgraded all powers cords in my system to Wireworld Silver Electra 5.2 Cords and thought I heard better instrument definition and more articulate bass.

Late 2014, I sold all the power cords for a pretty penny and continued hearing better instrument definition and articulate bass with monoprice cords.
