I lasted only a few minutes until after they said that "they are making turntables again" while one of them grappled an LP. Was there any attention paid to the construction with any regard to it being a convenient piece of furniture?

Ahhh. It’s a long-running show and they do a lot of cheesy stuff like that. Once you get past it, it’s actually not a bad show.

Oh, I do usually enjoy the show and learn a lot from it. It is the no-nothing attitude towards audio that is endemic in that show and all the home-reno shows that bugs me. My bęte noire is the installation of multiple "home theater/man cave" systems consisting of a large screen display but without any speakers, not even puny satellites or a sound-bar.

What I found interesting is how the cabinet was assembled using joinery techniques, and the general level of woodworking knowledge and skill using specialized woodworking tools. The cabinet is not my cup of tea, but how it was made is quite unique.

Tom Silva is good, and to go back in time he was the general contractor for Bob Villa and MasterCraftsman Norm Abrams in the original This Old House, PBS was down the street from where I grew up

Fun to watch. It's amazing what you can build with every tool at your disposal.

Agreed and with that being said I see countless numbers of analog rigs today in systems where the TT is below waist level. As a 65 year old male that's 6'1" tall that makes zero sense. My TT resides 4' off the floor.
