Amati Futura's to replace Sophia?

Ah I see Tom. I thought you had a problem with the bass.
It is funny because with my PMC EB1i and 2301's I had at times the same feeling of harshness in the treble and never got this with the Wilson WP8 and 2301, while the WP8 have the same tweeter I think than the S2.
It is true that the 2301 treble extension and energy is pretty incredible. I always found them less forgiving in this area than the much warmer sounding 275, 501's and 1.2K. The 2301 are very true to the source. Harsh recordings sound harsh.
But this can be changed by room
treatment and speaker set up.
My Shindo CCQ are more extended and have even more energy than the 2301's, and still I do not get harshness on the treble on most recordings with the WP8s....

Anyway I'm very confident that the Amati and the 2301's must be one of the best sound around. And will surely sound sweeter in the treble.

If you can have a demo of the Rega RS10 speakers near you, you might also love them.
Their treble is to die for and the bass is as good ad my WP8's, if not better.

Thanks again, you have a great persepctive on high end audio. At this stage it is all about finding that synergy, where 1+1=3.
I will see if I can find a demo of the Rega RS10. I'm finding the biggest challenge is to find gear that I can audition.
