I have never bi-amped a 2way only 3ways myself, i can only say and with all certainty , there is for sure one truism in audio and that is, everything makes a difference ...
Only one way to find out ... |

As I said in my last post, I don't have a problem with you commenting on SF speakers, so it was churlish to raise that. What is at issue is your theoretical predictions are at odds with my empirical experience. I was able to achieve a very satisfactory performance with a solid state amplifier with a substantially lower rating than the 500w that you predicted was necessary. Perhaps I should leave it at that, because you don't seem to enjoy having your theoretical assumptions, and rather unusual views, challenged. |

Hello Glisse,
You know i have the same feeling about your responses being rude , maybe its the way we are responding to each other as i dont get the impression you want discussion , well not the way you focus on semantics to make a point ... Case in point your insinuation that i said you would need 500 watts to have good sound, that was never the point of the discussion, as you may or may not like the sound you have , its not my position to say its good or bad, seeing its a personal choice, i was only attempting to give my techical reasoning as to why i would recommend more power if running SS gear on the SF. If you disagree with my position , I'm fine with that too.. If you would like to discuss, its Ok by me , one subject at a time and without the semantics ... Glisse ,
Challenges in Faithful Reproduction of Musical Peaks: A Power Amplifier Designer's Perspective Article By Simon Thacher Ph.D. Of Spectron Audio Check it out , a Good read , touches our discussion a bit , dynamic compression is not readily noticeable to those not suspicious of or not able to recognize it , it's not until one aquires more power , bigger speakers or both , then the bulb goes off ..
