I think you have to be in the USA to get it.

Well, if you're not in the USA... just use a VPN that allows you to reach their site via the USA...

My question is... the movies have to be played in Kaleidescape hardware or can be played in a computer?

Can only be downloaded to K hardward.

Also, people outside the US have tried VPN to make it look like the server is US-based. However having a non-US credit card blocked it.

K still says the Store will be availabe outside the US in 2013.
