Default Beyerdynamic A20 and A1 Headphone amps... Any experience anyone?

Hello fellow audio addicts,

I am on an ever ongoing quest for headphone bliss (within my budget) and Beyerdynamic crossed my path.

Headphones I am set with, after trying AudioTechnica W1000 and a modded Denon D2000. AKG is my brand and the K550 are the ones I like best.
I know there are better ones, I agree, but I need closed back...

I like to keep things neutral over the board, nice crisp highs, natural mids and a decent bass (Denon was too bass heavy and the W1000 lacked a little).

So, knowing that and with your knowledge of the Beyerdynamic amp(s), would either of the Beyer D amps be a good match with the humble K550's?

Looking at the footprint I would lean towards the A20...

Will do!
In the mean time I decided to go with the bryston bha-1.
And now after a few days of burn in I'm giving it a listen with the K550's.
This is the first one to dethrone my faithful ps audio GCHA.
It has the same deep black background, but its easier on the ears. More natural.
The A20 still is a good option for the office.

I have the Bryston. It's great! K550 is an amazing headphones for so little money. Can't say the same for the K551.

I had the K551 also, not half as good. Even the way its made is flimsy.
