OppoMod that I have read elsewhere, and recently Toga pointed out that
the ZeroZone doesn't suffer from it. Interesting.
That's not it at all, at least for the one I purchased. The ZeroZone digital LPS (I haven't researched the regular one that's cheaper) uses Japanese capacitors and is in any case better designed in one major aspect - as you noted, it has a huge aluminum heatspreader to handle heat unlike the Oppomod. As I said earlier, the only thing that I can think of is another party wanting a cut - the ZeroZone is not only as good as the OppoMod, but arguably better. I couldn't find any reason to justify the price differential and so I bought the ZeroZone, which has been amazing in terms of video and digital audio improvement over the OEM SPS.

Thank you for your feedback. I did notice about the transformer shield/heatspreader,
but your impressions on video and sound are more telling. I couldn't find too many
reviews about these power supplies. With the price difference then it is easier to
choose these power supplies, plus the fact that there a definite improvement
in their heat dissipation.

Will they better than the OPPO 205 ? Let's see.

Toga
I'm not sure about the Pioneer but the Panasonic will unfortunately not play SACD or DVD-A so it's not a replacement for the Oppo in that regard.

The Cambridge is just the Oppo 203 without the analog section plus a few additional tweaks so I suspect once Oppo completely stops production these will stop as well.

I bought my 205 off the waiting list, but it the Pioneer LX model seems to cover all the Oppo 205 bases once it’s available here. Good news for us disc spinners!
