LOL, I enjoy reading your posts and I thought you might have an interesting take on my question.
So if the universe is expandning, ie the space between galaxies etc.. why doesn’t this expansion effect the physical items held within space. I mean why doesn’t the expansion effect physical objects? If the universe is expanding and accelerating, then it would be fair to assume that eventually the expansive forces would overcome the local nuclear force holding the atoms together and everything would be stretched until all matter is destroyed. The BIG RIP....

Thank you, so as of now, gravity is preventing what we around us from expanding with the rest of the space.
