With the Quads and the 275's The Rosewood might be to much of a good thing where the Urushi would seem to be a very good match sonically, I don't know how it will work with your arm, sorry
I'm also thinking of Urushi down the line. I have auditioned the Black & the Rosewood Standard and preferred the Std so I bought it.
Is the Urushi just as warm as the rosewood ?
I find the rosewood just right in my system now but i'm skeptical if going to the Urushi would make the presentation of my system lighter which I don't want.

I've been using a Dynavector XV-1s, Skala, Shelter Harmony and a Clearaudio DaVinci, the Uriushi has been an absolute slice of heaven. Using it currently with an Oracle Delphi V, SME iV.Vi and the ARC REF PHONO 2.

Couldn't be happier!

Soundslikemusic the Urushi isn't as "robust" so your worries may be well founded.
If your happy why look for problems?!! Enjoy!!!

I'm using the Blue. I'd say just a touch warm but that was exactly what I wanted.

That's true.
Based on my hunch, and perhaps you guys can confirm. Is the Koetsu Black the warmest, fullest sounding of all the Koetsu line-up ?

The black is the warmest and least resolving of the lineup. I don't think the black sounds all that much different than a $500 Grado. I wouldn't buy into Koetsu unless you are at least going for a Urushi or a Rosewood Sig Platinum. I've played with most of the line at one time or another and those three are really the sweet spot in the line, offering some resolution along with the warmth/body/etc. without costing five figures.

i currently have the std rosewood and very pleased with it.
Someday might upgrade to the Urushi but for now, its pure musical bliss with the rosewood.
