mm's are older...my previous speaker cables were a pair of used super mm. I changed them to brand new ultra mm2 and was quite a difference. Now I want to upgrade to reference xl. Your text about what you heard in your demo was very helpful to me to decide to upgrade.

I listened to several other speakers, but I decided on Sasha's. I'm not familiar with McIntosh's sonic signature, but I know my midrange and tweeter can be improved with better electronics. Sasha's are very capable and now it's about how to get the most out of them without going broke...I must watch what I spend. System integration becomes more important than individual components. I will say, the best I've ever heard Sasha's sound was at Definitive Audio.
Yes, exactly. I am doing a demo of ref XL interconnects now, picked them up today. I already hear a big difference! Never heard much difference with ic's with my 802. Oh man, these Sasha's are going to milk me dry. They are getting me speaker cables to demo too...whahhh!

I tried Transparent(current Ultra) in my system and it wasn't a good match. I know what "some people" say about the synergy between Wilson and Transparent, but listening with my own ears, in my own system told me something different. I submit there are more cost effective alternatives...just food for thought!

Try their Reference...I hear a difference, and I am a big naysayer in all this voodoo! Ugh, I can't afford all this crap.

It is a very slippery slope!! I am in the queue for a pair of Reference XL interconnects to place between my preamp and amp. I have had my dealers pair for a 5th week now. These cables have elevated my system and brings me closer to the music in a way that makes it very very difficult to turn the system off. I decided to return the companion Ref XL speaker cables ---- perhaps a future upgrade. My Sophia 3 speakers have never sounded better. Simply spellbinding.

I just don't understand how interconnects can do a damn thing. My logical side refuses to believe it. Even speaker cables...seems impossible. Don't even get me started on power cables. I'm still not prepared to agree they make a difference, but I haven't tried any yet either. Baby steps. Well I don't feel like I'm taking baby steps!

If that's the way you really feel and you're comfortable with that, then I'd recommend that you do not audition the TA Reference or above cables. I felt the very same way you did until I tried a set of TA Ref in my system. They are a permanent fixture in my system now, and I'm looking to ultimately upgrade them to Ref XL. Yeah, they're keepers.
