Current reading
I am a little late to the party but I just finished reading “Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari. He is an Oxford trained professor of history from Israel. It was originally published in 2011.
Among others, he attempts to answer the question of how Homo Sapiens moved from having no more significance on earth than jellyfish 70,000 years ago to being the masters of the earth. I found it captivating and thought provoking to a disturbing level. Highly recommended. IMG_1223.JPG

Ha! I had to find the definition of infantilization first! I have not read Homo Dues yet but it is on order and I am looking forward to it. To your second question, I understand your view and would (not trying to be political) connect your view to an expansion of the liberal culture around the world - which I feel it is linked to. I would take a longer view and propose, as Harari outlines, that Homo Sapiens will likely evolve into a totally different specie. Perhaps along that path, some outside and unforeseen event will occur that will move us away from the infantilization of man. Not to be chicken little, but I fear that event could be another world scale war fought over some future technology. Great question. I am still digesting the book.
