Thanks, Jean-Marc...
long long time ago... my wristwatch scratch wood side panel of my Accuphase amp too.
But don't know why it didn't hurt me as much as when I damaged the Sophia3.
Cleaning and shining Sophia3 make me happy every time, until now that I have to see that chipped paints.
Now I think my Sophia is in good hand as I am in contact with dealer already.

Yikes... I hope it fixes well. Sometimes I find though that after the initial nick in a car I forgot about it a month later...??

What is the underlying color? Black? I would think silver might show it less?

Although it is an old thread, the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago to my brand new Sasha 2! I was rearranging my rack and the Linear Power Supply hit it.

I am so pissed at the moment.

I have had Wilson, Sophias, Watt Puppy 7 sand now Sashas. I, like most here, are maniacal about keeping them dust and scratch free. Well, when I sold my Watt Puppy 7s, I listed them on Agon as 9/10 condition. A buyer agreed to purchase them and was renting a truck and driving up from Maryland (or thereabouts) to NYC the next morning at 9 am to pick them up. In rearranging my rack at midnight the night before, I lifted my amp and bumped it into my speaker which left a big (in retrospect probably a very small) scratch on the side panel. I felt so bad calling the buyer at 7 in the morning to tell him his speakers were no longer 9/10 and that he could cancel and I would pay for his truck rental or I would take 1k off the price. He didn't miss a beat. He took the 1k discount and arrived on time. I hope he is still enjoying them, but what a relief from a sad and somewhat sleepless night. Talk about wanting to punch myself.

The first thing I thought about when I looked at this old thread was: "WOW Toga has come a long way!" Talk about Lu Flu. Maybe it's Toga-Lu syndrome?

In fact it is not too bad for my case, my father-in-law owned a body shop and can take care of most fancy cars' paint job. But as the speaker is so new, I am a bit hesitated to have it shipped around. I guess I will just live with it for now and like watches or cars, dents are dings are not avoidable.

Me too ... First thought was, wow, toga had S3 speakers like me. I have always planned on Sasha's when I get a bigger room .... Boy Toga quickly shot to the top with the Magico Q7.

I too have scratched my Sophia. Was reaching behind speaker and grabbing Mac mini off a shelf and completely forgot I had a device dangling off the back of the unit (it tricks the computer into thinking it has a monitor attached). Well, it ricocheted off my speaker and scratched the side. Ugg.

Hi, sorry to hear that.

We really need to be careful. Do jot rush, do not relax too much , no slack when we are around these stuffs.
After this happened I told my self I will not be too slack around them again. Especially I am start playing vinyls.
I got a genuine touch up paint from local Wilson dealer, and I spent so long time thinking how best to apply the paint
, so long that I got new speakers before I do anything.
But believe me, this bad feeling will subsided in a few days/weeks/months, especially when tue music started.

Now with my Sophia 3 still around, It create new problem to solve which I am about to start a new post.

Toga
