For what it's worth, I saw that the X.5 series is being discontinued by Pass Labs as of Sept 1, 2015. Not a surprise really.

Been breaking in the X350.8. I am enjoying it - but I will say that it sounds a bit lean in the mids. The top and bottom are superb. I am really considering what the 100.8 could bring to the table. If money wasn't an object id trade rigHt now for the XA160.8, but it would cost me a ton more money. The 350.8 for XA100.8 is pretty much a fair swap (more or less) with my dealer. I'm hesitant to lose the bass control - though I understand the .8 has better grip than the .5. Any help????

Hi Flyingyeff,
i had the x250.5 with B&W802di and was great. than the Xa100.5 with B&W802di and later with the Wilson Sasha2. Always no problem. (well Wilson is easy to drive vs the 802....) Now I have the Xa100.8 always with Sasha2: For my Pass Xa is the top today available (in this price liga). For me is really strange that you find no control in the bass LF with the Xa100.5 or 100.8. the X350.8 is a good product but in the .5 series the 250.5 was better vs the 350.5..... mid make you dont happy? a power question? strange..... |

Thanks for replying Raidho.
What I said regarding Bass - is that the 350.8 does a very nice job with it. If I made the switch to the XA100.8, I fear I might lose a good deal of bass. I actually will be receing a Shunyata Zitron Python Power cable next week. Probably help the overall presentation. In any case - really like the X350.8....just wondering if the XA Mono series would be more "My thing".... |

My Pre is a Classe. Sounds good. Do you think with only the 100 watt 100.8 I can achieve some low end ?
