2 f112's or 2f113's?

I am going to add another JL sub to my system but I am not sure for stereo music if 2 f112's are more musical and faster than 2 f113's or would 2 f113's sound better. Has anyone tried these combos. Thanks

If I remember reading correctly driver size doesn't equate to a woofer being faster. To sum it up the larger driver's voice coil has to move less in it's magnetic assembly to produce the same low note. It will incorporate a stronger spider and voice coil to handle peaks than the smaller driver. There's a good thread on the AVS forum about that same question. I chose the F113 route as I listen to music and always will.They are the cleanest fastest most musical sub I have ever owned.I have owned a few different subs in my past audio bliss. I'm sure others have gone a similar route cough,cough Masterlu?

Yes, I have owned quite a few brands of subs over the years.

For me, the quest for Bass utopia ended when I bought my first JL sub.

This is right. Go with the larger woofer if you have the budget and space for it.

I have the same dilemma but I only have a 15x15 office and I listen mostly at relatively low volume. For me, space and economy-wise, I don't know how much I'd benefit from F113's. I listen to classical, acoustic, and a lot of rock, but don't listen to that much organ music. If you, PMCH, want to sell your F112 and move up to F113's, I could be interested in a couple of months. I'm just putting in some ASC sub-basses (under the F112 and my temp 2nd sub) and 16" traps in the next month or so.

I used dual F112's in a room that was 14x17 and was blown away with the results. I even used a single F112 in a 15x26 theater room with great results.

Thanks for everyone's input. I decided to go with 2 f113's. I thought if I didn't I would wonder what it would have sounded like. There goes my IRS refund. The f113's are definitely deeper sounding than the f112. They seem much larger than 1" over the f112. I picked them up yesterday afternoon at AudioClassics. I set them up as master/master and ran Aero on each one. Now comes the fun part of tweaking them for the best all around sound. Attached is a pic of them set up. I know I still have to get stands and acoustic panels. Their size balances the large size of the EB1i's better than the f112 did. I usually use them for stereo music but when I put on a Blue Ray concert (Blue Man Group), all I can say is wow.

Any input is always welcome.

I don't want to spend more of your money, but the Sound Anchor stands (search the site for more info)designed by Ivan made a significant improvement on my 2 F113s.
