I am not coming from $8000 int. Amp to Momentum system, so on my side there is not much exciting improvement over what I have now. Selling 50,000$ amp to by new $50,000 will be big disaster to me due to depreciation of first amp.

For me If I have to pick one between pre amp and power amp. Momentum power amp will have more chance. Although
Connecting my speaker cables to these amps binding posts made me sick.

Replacing REF150 with Momentum will give you a completely different sound. Prepare to rearrange all cables and accessories.
And make sure that your speaker cables and XLR cables can be fitted to rear panel comfortably enough. I doubt that.

With Momentum system, I would personally choose Ayon CD Player as a source.

I am pleased that you were able to try Dan's gear in your own set-up. In any discussion of top gear I believe it holds its own with the likes of Boulder, Constellation, Soulution, DartZeel, etc. When I first connected the amps in my system I was very surprised at how effective they were at handling difficult loads such as the MBL's I owned at the time.

Even though the amps work well with other brands of pre-amps, I think the synergy he designed into the units makes the pre optimized for his power amps. Several of us started with the power amps and were very happy with our McIntosh, Ayre, AR REf , PASS etc until we heard them paired with his pre-amp, then we switched.

Dan's company is pretty small and with the gear he has in the pipeline (home theater, pre-amp with streaming, phono stage and much bigger amps) I doubt we will ever see a lower cost line added to his catalog.

I have not had the opportunity to hear the Ayon CD player for any extended period. I am guessing pairing the unit with the Momentum's would be too much warmth for me as I find Dan's gear to be leaning that way already. Dan does suggest that his gear be left turned on all the time for best performance.

i myself heard of DAG stereo amp with dAg pre-amp, superb really but way too rich for my blood. REF 75 or REF150 more affordable

Sorry for late reply. Was busy for whole month in December.

For me, ARC vs DAG, it 's all about how you like it. Tube is tube, SS is SS.
Dag will be maintenance free, at a cost. Speaker terminals are not very friendly to large spades due to recessed and tight space.
ARC sounds will vary as tubes aged. Parts quality are generally rather pedestrian ( outside parts). But for sound, one may prefer one over another. But value for money goes to ARC. For Dag, large portion of your money is for bling bling factor.
