Default Minima Amator

After seeing these speakers at RMAF, and hearing their bigger sibling, the Electa Amator, I decided to order a pair for my second system. They’ll replace the PSB Imagine Minis I currently have paired with my Luxman SQ-N100. With any luck they’ll arrive at the dealer shortly after I get home from post-RMAF travels. [emoji106]

SF says they’re primarily designed as bookshelf speakers, but you can order stands separately, either the Carrara stand (the EA stand, what I ordered) or the Unicum stand, which is a lower cost all-black stand.

Very nice Tony......do you remember the originals? They were the speaker line/models that got me into the high end hobby. The original Electa Amators were so good.

I remember them although I never heard them - they were beautiful looking speakers. I think Kevin (Miner) now has the latest version of the Electa Amators, the ones we saw in Denver. I’d have gone for them but the Minimas are the perfect size for where I’ll use them.

Yes, I have had the EAIIIs now for about 4 months. Previously I had the Cremona Auditor Ms, and thought they would be the monitor I would live with until the end. Well, the end arrived early when I auditioned the EAs in a 2 hour session. My dealer gave me a generous trade in and I jumped. The mids are glorious without being forward and the highs are very smooth. I could have lived with them as is but decided to add a Gravis II sub two months later. The Minimas are beautiful.

I had the originals with a REL sub which has me thinking of the new EA's. They reproduced female-voice and piano like no other speaker I have owned. A friend has the original Extrema's and they are wonderful to this day.

I heard the originals last year (2018) in Munich with Italian tube electronics. It was exquisite.
