Howard, let me know how the MEN-220 does plugged into the Pure Power unit. I have used the APC S-15 with battery back-up on my source components and pre-amp for some time now. None of my components has a problem keeping going when the APC had to switch to battery power for split second when the power dropped for a brief duration. The MEN-220 powers itself off when a power dip occurs and has to be switched back on manually.

Works Perfectly!!! I just pulled the main plugs while everything was playing and all units continued to play seamlessly - not even a blink. The front readouts immediately read "Battery Power". As soon as I put the main plugs back in the outlets, the unit light for Utility power came on and the screen read Output 120v.
Very, Very Cool. This is one heck of a product.

I'm very happy with the PP2000...and it is great to hear you are too.

IMHO two area's for improvement... ultra quiet fans installed as standard and 12 V trigger to daisy chain a start up sequence of multiple units.

About 40 hours on them now and the improvement is unrelenting. Honestly, I did not expect this level of improvement. The 1.2KW's are finally having their appetites well nourished.

All new PurePower units now have a ramp up cicuit for the fans meaning when there is a very low load on the unit the fans will operate at a slow speed and you really can't hear them and when the fans are operating full speed there very quiet much less so then other simular products with fans......on the older units that did not have the new ramp up circuit you could only hear the fans if you were within a foot from the unit, this is for the US version.......the international units are reported to have louder fans inside for what ever reason.

Even with the room quiet, I cannot hear the fans until my ear almost touches the front grill. Maybe the earlier threads on AA motivated a change of fans in the PP.

Most of the fan noise issues are reported with international units, very few are with the US models.......I have had the line for two years now and never had a customer report the fans being loud.

Look for the black PurePower units to be on back order when I return to the Cape in March and replace a lot of PPP's.
