Default Equinox 6 (EQS) speaker cables review, lot of pics.

As some of you may know, I won a 1 meter Wireworld Platinum Starlight HDMI valued at $999 at our 2010 AA Extravaganza.

Ivan & David of Wireworld was very accommodating to offered me a $1000 store credit towards any Wireworld cable instead of the HDMI cable. I got two cables.

You can read the review here.

Today, I am reviewing the Equinox 6 speaker cables. I had the cables custom terminated because I wanted spades on the speaker end and bananas on the amp end. David was so cool to do this for me.

The Equinox 6 retails for $844 for a 10ft. pair.

The cables are very well made. The bananas fit tightly on the amp and the spade terminals fit better than my MIT cables. I really like how it fits.

So how does it sound? Immediate change was the vocals. It is much more centered and fuller than my MIT T2. It also seems quieter so the music sounded more focused. Imaging is rock solid. I really like that. I've been listening for a week and I am really liking how my setup sounds now. If you are seeking a GREAT pair speaker wires you really should do yourself a favor and audition these. I think there keepers!

Mike,

I share your sentiments - I just replaced my previous (junk) wire and finally threw on a set of Bi-Wire Eclipse 6's.

The difference was profound in that the music was far more focused, ear fatigue was immediately gone (there was some before on the higher notes with all the tweeters of the XCS350's), and the centralization/imaging of the system became far more harmonious.

Great cables for the price, for sure - and you got the scream of a deal!
