Default Shunyata King Cobra CX

Hi guys ,

It’s my first time to post in the Shunyata forum . It’s my first time to try an aftermarket power cord in my ARC REF 5SE and REF Phono 2 SE. A friend of mine loaned / made me try a pair of King Cobra CX Power Cord that his selling when he saw that I was still using the stock power cords from ARC. I was surprised how big an improvement these pair of power cords brought brought out to my system . The difference is not subtle and clearly audible ( more open sound , a wider soundstage , more 3D imaging , blacker background, tighter bass and dynamic contrast ) . I’m using a pair of Synergistic Research Tesla Precision Power cords on my ARC REF 610T’s , I thought that there was no need for me to replaced the stock power cords in my 5SE & 2SE, since they’re not as power hungry as my amp , but guess I was wrong .

Even crazier, they work on more then just Audio - I noticed positive results in my TV’s, Marshall Stack and sons gaming computer

Enjoy the Hobby!

Hi ,

Thanks for the reply . The former owner of the King Cobra power cords tried them in his home theater receiver (by using an adopter to convert from a 20 amp to 15 amp connector ) and he was likewise surprised. But what’s ironic is that the King Cobra is more expensive than his home theatre receiver .

I own two of these King Cobra CX and agree it's a quality product. It adds a bit more weight to the overall musical presentation. Interesting I believe the King Cobra was only made twice in the company's history. First, as their original flagship and second, created a different version ten years later. Also, I believe it was the only 5 gauge cable ever created.

Thanks for the reply , That’s one of the reasons while I’m getting them aside from the improvement it made to my system.
