It was late at night when I made the post so I may not have worded it properly.

What I really was trying to say is: Which component is likely to be upgraded more often than others in your system because it holds a higher coveted status.

A path of more performance because you feel a stronger connection and belief it will make the biggest difference.

If you analyze your system over the years/decades/lifetime, which component would you say your hands carried to the "altar of the sacred frequencies" more often?

I have definitely had more different amps in my system over the years than any other component. For every pair of speakers that I owned (and even those were swapped out fairly often), there would have been 2-3 different amps taking turns mating with the speaker.... That sounds like some audio org.. never mind, you know what I mean.

That changes everything. I would then have to say that my amps/preamps are upgraded more often than any other part of my system. Not to say that it's very often.

I tend to hold on to my speakers and Vinyl rig for many years.

Amplifiers - I’ve gone many years with the same speakers, but amp/pre and/or integrated have changed more frequently.
