I’m afraid that was my take when reading most of those posts as well. Neither I nor my wife have had any problems. Sure, there are some changes, and we’ve had to hunt around a little to find the new way to do a few things, but so far no glitches and most of the changes have been positive. I did read that a couple of people reported Game Center being turned on and checked our phones, but it didn’t happen to us. I have noticed at least one positive security feature: many apps now ask if I want to allow them to access Bluetooth when first opening them (including the AA app!). I thought this was strange for apps that aren’t connecting to any devices and did some research. Apparently many apps automatically (and secretly) connect to Bluetooth readers in some stores or other places to report their presence so the store can collect your location - Apple now allows you to block this new little privacy invasion.

Yep, nothing major. I’d rather update to stay current than not.

Both my wife and I have noticed some connecting issues in our GM model cars, but nothing to rant about.

Apple has completely lost the plot since Steve Jobs passed.
That was 8 years ago and over 10 years since he took a step back from Apple to focus on his health.

The Apple is doomed has been running for decades now. The company is still churning away and created amazing new products.

The iPhone was once in a lifetime opportunity so you can't expect Apple to reproduce that every couple of years. Though I'm sure Fitbit would be happy with half the sale of the Apple Watch or even the Airpods.

I didn't say that, Georges, I said that, IMHO, they have lost the plot with respect to their products. And their product development. And their customers.

I have no issue with folks having a different take on this than I do, but also gently request that folks don't mis-state my comments inaccurately; I never said they were doomed.

I'll post some data in links as to why I'm of the view that Apple has "lost the plot."

Cheers, mate.

Per my previous post about that, in my view Apple has "lost the plot" with respect to their products, their product design and their customers, here are some links to content that support why I hold that view.

The first is the infamous "Butterfly keyboard". The Butterfly keyboard was designed by Jony Ive, and has a been, to put it mildly, a design and quality nightmare for Apple. Its implementation has resulted in no less than 3 class-action lawsuits levied against Apple. While some may remember this as being from a few years ago...nope.

Apple is still dealing with Butterfly keyboard problems even in 2019: https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-...ction-lawsuit/

Of note: "claims from a class action lawsuit arguing that Apple knew that its “butterfly” keyboards are likely to fail."

Apple tried to get the lawsuit thrown out, but...

"However, the judge refused to throw out the Apple keyboard butterfly defect class action lawsuit entirely, leaving claims that the tech giant committed fraud by omission, among other allegations."

Last year, Apple iinitiated a lawsuit against a small, 1-man repair shop in Ski, Norway for alledgedly using counterfeit parts in repairing damaged iPhone screens. In fact, the repair shop was using genuine Apple screens that had been refurbished. Apple lost this lawsuit in court in Norway.
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/a...owner-and-lost

Bottom-line: Apple doesn't want anyone but them repairing Apple products. The problem with this is that Apple often defrauds customers that bring products in for repair by telling them that they can't be repaired and a new product must be purchased, when in fact, the product CAN be repaired and at a modest cost. In the link below, Apple in Toronto tells the customer that the repair will cost $1200 CAN. In fact, Louis Rossman fixed in 90 secs for free. Note also how Apple misled the customer with telling them that the computer had been damaged by liquid, when in fact the "water indicators" will turn red if the computer is simply used in a humid environment where was no intrusion of liquid water.

and:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-f...ght-1529399713

And then...there's the Apple Battery-gate:
https://www.zdnet.com/article/batter...world-of-hurt/

Last, here's a good one: a repair video by Louis Rossman showing how Apple had changed the design of logic boards so that a high-voltage (40-50V) contacts on the main board is...right next to a 1-volt contact point that goes to...the Graphics MUX, or in the case of 13" MBP....the CPU! If you get a power transient, surge, etc, it not only damages the AC contact point, it also fries your CPU. The irony here is that back in 2012, Apple kept high-voltage contact points well away from low-voltage data contact points. But in 2016, 2017 and 2018..nope! The high-voltage contact is right next to a low-voltage contact that, in the case of 13" MBPs, can fry your CPU.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/batter...world-of-hurt/
(note: you only need to watch the first 8 minutes to get the gist)

This is not only an example of "losing the plot", its...just downright stupid.

As a long-time technical product developer, Voice of the Customer instructor, professional and project manager, and Design for Six Sigma Master Black Belt, how this is good for customers...I just don't know.

And none of those happened during Steve Jobs? Antenna-gate (as ridiculous as it was) and "you're holding it wrong", all the lawsuits against anyone with ipod, iTunes or mac in its name (how many small business had to change their names?), the chase for thinness above anything else, the cracking plexi on the Cube,...

They're not losing the plot, it's always been who they are.
