Waiting for a nice McIntosh MA6800/6850 or Accuphase E-407 to show up. Think the economy has created a problem with the used audio market. Folks do not trade like they did 3+ years ago. Patience.

What features are you looking for? I like the MA7000 and the MA2275's ability to control everything from the front face. I would like to see MEN220 Features integrated into the the next Integrated amp. -Room Correction -Bass Management -Crossover I would also like to see dual mono or fully balanced design. I do not want integrated DAC, digital inputs, or anything that stands a chance of being obsolete. I do not want firmware. Keep Phono inputs maybe offer dual phono so MM/MC K |

Features? A remote with volume control is enough (Bryston B-60R or Cary SLI-80?).
Bonus features would be selection of inputs from the remote. Might be persuaded to go for another MA6600. Was a very nice integrated amp with many features. I'm a bit of analog luddite and don't need anything digital such as an internal DAC. The tuner option in the MA6600 was decent and I found that it was quiet during difficult listening conditions (electrical storms, etc.) when using HD. I've been quite pleasantly suprised with the Bel Canto S300i that I picked up a couple of weeks ago as a stop-gap solution. My first Bel Canto product and first Class D (digital - horror of horrors ). Would have to agree with the reviews that I've read. It is a nice, big sound from a small box. Good enough that may hang onto as my 'back up' amp. My problem with the MA2275 is that it simply does not sound good to my ears. YMMV.

MA6600 or Luxman 507u are on the short list for my upcoming system upgrade.
If the wife balks on price, the 505u would probably be okay as well. |
