Thank you Serge! They made a huge improvement. Yeah I really struggled and obsessed over what color to choose. These diffusors/absorption panels actually have a charcoal gray fabric under the black faceplate.

Some truly incredible systems here, out of interest what do a pair of used 601s in great condition generally sell for now?
