No need to complicate the subject.
Ryan Cornell of Harvard University says that a traditional car using the internal combustion engine (ICE) will emit about 69 metric tons of CO2 over a lifetime, or 150,000 miles. But an electric vehicle (EV) powered 100% by coal will emit 66 metric tons of CO2 over the same time period, he figures. Given that nearly every grid in America hosts a number of fuel sources, that’s a conservative figure. Take your pick EV or ICE and the source and how the electricity is derived to charge the electric vehicle is still one of the most important factors. Battery technology will also mature as Tesla is already going with Iron-Cathode technology since it is cheaper and more abundant compared to nickel and cobalt and all the mining problems as I already posted above. |

Well, McIntosh electronics in a car is still cool, I still have my MC440 (I think), still sounds great to this day. I used to love the look of the aftermarket McIntosh head units. Still hard to beat a solid aftermarket system tuned properly.

Buck, have you considered the carbon footprint of your aftermarket car audio and have you considered the feelings of the designers who may have been offended by your actions of rejecting the factory offered radio?
