I am in the midst of the same debate, but so far digital is winning.

Look at the article at The VinylZone: Cartridge Alignment for a good explantation of the various elements of cartridge alignment. I love vinyl, I love vinyl, I love vinyl - I listen to CD's and SACD's too - but only for their convenience.

Congrats...enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! I listen to more digital than LP due to convenience, but, when I have the time, I love to immerse myself in the vinyl experience. My RP1 got the ball rolling, for me...I think it's a great table.

For me....Vinyl is a pain in the a#*. It's fun to show friends that records didn't sound that bad back in it's day and it does sound pretty good, but it's a hassle.
At times I will play records for 2-3 days and then not lift the needle for 6 months. To each there own.

And here I am reading this with three turntables, and presently spinning vinyl on one of them. I absolutely love the EAR 324P I bought from Serge, it's wonderful...so quiet and transparent yet musical. And I love being able to switch TTs at the push of a button. Right now I'm listening to Bill Evans on the Michell and the Koetsu, and Lucky Cat is curled up in my lap...he loves Bill Evans.

I also thought I would ask if anyone has tried a different cartridge on the PR1? My performance package came with the Bias 2 cartridge.
Any thoughts????

Vinyl's wonderful, once you get hooked there's no going back. If you are looking for a better TT in 6 months, I strongly suggest you pick up a nice clean used Rega P5. Trust me on this...

I love for people to try vinyl and decide it's too much trouble - or a pain in the a** as someone said- in spite of the fact that with good equipment it does sound better than the alternatives.
When they decide to dump their records, I will offer to take them off their hands - either free, or at very low cost. I have gotten thousands of like-new LP's in just that manner. If you don't want your old junk records, give me a call!
