Paul,
Thanks for the input. I agree the MC601's are tough to beat when matched up with the right system. So far, none of the contenders here or anything from endless auditions has succeeded in making me want to part with them. My earlier plans if the MC275 or MC75 didn't work out was a pair of MC2301s. Now I'm not so sure. The Canterbury's sure sound happy in my room with the MC601s. It's almost impossible for me to turn the thing off each night. I haven't gone to bed on time in months now. The C2300 is an excellent preamp but with my setup, I think the C1100 preamp is the best upgrade option. If it turns out that I'm right, my system may never get turned off again.

At some point, I need to take a ride and have a listen to both against my C2500.

Tom (W9TR) and Jason (j3brow) you mention a significant difference going from the 2300 to the 500T. Was there also a significant difference between 500T and 1100?

Thanks!

John,
I had the C1100 and C500T at the same time. I swapped in the C1100 and heard an immediate improvement in noise floor and dynamics. I didn't do any back and forth listening because I'd traded in the C500T and I needed to ship it out.
Tom

Thanks for all the imputs. I think with the bi-amp of the speakers. The MC2500 for the two 18" woofers works great. Its a tank. Now maybe 2 MC75 for the upper......Don't have the beans for a C1100 but may be able to swing a used C500t.

How good is the C1100 and how does the C2600 compare?
