I'd be very curious what the BTU rating is! They may turn the room into a Finnish Sauna besides playing music.

Most arc welders do not deliver as much current as these amps!

Since they leave clas A at 80 watts, similar to the X600.5's unless you really need the extra power (who truly drives more than 400-500 watts) you may be better off with the X600.5's. Especially if you are running 4 ohm speakers. All the Pass amps are under rated as to power output.

Ivan - for what speakers? Aida's? Futuras? Something else you're hiding in your storage closet?

Desmond Harrington (former Lead Engineer for Krell) designed the X1000.5. I will PM you his email in case you are interested in hearing from the horses mouth!

Depending on what speakers, don't pass up (no pun intended) the XA200.5's.
